Job Summary: The Boys & Girls Clubs of Albany, NY (BGCA) are seeking a Program Director for a new grant funded program. The Program Director will be responsible for overseeing 50 staff members, including five Site Directors (full-time) and 45 Youth Development Professionals (part-time), at our five satellite locations. This position is responsible for maintaining program success via measurement of academic test scores aligned with Common Core Standards, tracking weekly attendance, establishing and tracking objectives related to the grant, and ensuring programs remain within compliance of OCFS (School Aged) regulations.

Interested candidates must be available to start employment with the BGCA for orientation and onboarding the week of September 11th.

• Oversee, support, and manage all program staff

• Recruit and hire staff for each satellite location, including five full-time Site Directors and 45 part-time Youth Development Professionals

• Ensure staff have proper documentation and have completed background checks

• Complete OCFS Training Tracking for all staff when trainings are completed

• Support Site Directors to train YDP staff to create and implement lesson plans; including but not limited to Boys & Girls Clubs of America Curriculum and other project based learning activities

• Perform all administrative governance related to payroll and time log concerns

• Observe and evaluate staff performance at each site

• Coordinate and facilitate bi-weekly staff meetings

• Compile monthly board reports

• Manage/Oversee Site Director work plans and projects

• Maintain current partnerships with other agencies, nonprofits, and government entities to establish holistic programming

• Attend, schedule, and facilitate program related meetings

• Develop project-based games and activities, based on information provided by Rubicon Atlas, that reflect the Common Core Standards

• Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication between City School District of Albany (CDSA), BGCA, the Capital District Child Care Council (CDCCC), and parents/guardians to maintain open lines of communication and trust

• Track program goals and objectives between both the BGCA and CSDA sites

• Order, inventory, and collect program related supplies

• Visit sites on a regular basis

• Submit monthly snack and Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) meal reports



• At least five years experience working with school aged youth

• At least two years of experience supervising staff

• Experience leading and facilitating trainings and meetings


Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Business Administration, or related field (or proven intent to enroll or complete degree)

School Age Child Care Credential (SACCC) or other office-recognized credential specific to the school-age developmental period

$37,000 annual salary (grant funded - salary non-negotiable)
